Event End Time:
Peak Solar Wind Speed (km/s):
Date of first appearance of coronal hole in EUV at east limb:
Note: IMF strength has fluctuated around 8 nT beginning around 2020-07-13T18:00Z. Source of high geomagnetic activity is currently unclear. The solar wind observed at L1 could likely be the arrival of the CME observed on 2020-07-09 and Earth-facing coronal holes on the central disk around 2020-07-08. The modeled CME trajectory likely could result in a small glancing blow at Earth. The Earth has also been modeled with the Gong-WSA-ENLIL to be magnetically connected to the northern coronal hole on the solar surface.
